My work is an extension of who I am. As a yogi, I am influenced greatly by consciousness, Nature, creativity, and uplifting others. My work is inspired by my practice. Tying my practice in with my creative process has always seemed like an ideal partnership.
Swati Jr* Jewelry is named for me, Saraswati. I was nicknamed Swati Jr. by a dear friend who was also a jewelry designer. When he passed suddenly several years ago, he left me his bead and gem collection. I’ve been touched by that gesture, our friendship and his nickname for me- so I decided to carry the nickname Swati Jr. forward with my work.
A self-proclaimed artist and visionary, color and texture never cease to astonish me. I draw ideas and visions from my surroundings, finding inspiration from my greatest teacher- Nature herself, as well as the ancient goddesses who speak through each piece of jewelry created. Indigenous art, ritual pieces and goddess adornments influence my creations. I thrive on the ancient past, bringing it alive in the present.
